New Regulatory Changes May Require Your Action

Attention Personal Debit Card Customers:

New overdraft rules are in effect for one-time personal debit card transactions.

What This Means for You

As an ENB customer, unless we have an authorization on file for your account(s), your one-time debit card and ATM transactions will be declined if there are not sufficient funds in your account to cover your transaction. These new overdraft rules do not affect recurring debit card transactions (for example, monthly memberships automatically paid using your debit card).

Everyone has different banking needs. If you use your debit card for one-time purchases, such as grocery orders or your morning coffee, you may wish to take advantage of this opportunity to authorize your checking accounts to reduce the chance that your debit card purchases will be declined.

With this authorization your account will work the same way it does today. You would continue to allow us to overdraw your account to pay your debit transaction. If we do pay the transaction, an overdraft fee of $30 will be assessed. We pay overdrafts at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.

ENB does provide other overdraft protection methods that allow you to reduce the cost of overdraft transactions. Click here for a product comparison or call us at 717-733-4181 and we can help you determine the right product for your needs.

If you do not feel that this authorization is necessary for your personal financial situation, then you do not need to take any action at this time.

If you decide to complete an authorization, you may revoke it at any time using the same contact methods listed below.

Before you contact us, you will need to read and complete Ephrata National Bank’s Overdraft Policy and Authorization Form.
